INSANE Mutton Soup & BEST Masala Dosa at 3 AM! Street Food Tour of Hyderabad India

I started off my day with a typical south Indian breakfast: Dosas and Idlis. I later found out from my local friend that there is a popular dosa place that is only open from 3-5am! So after a long food day, we woke up early to get what some say is the best dosa in Hyderabad. Xochimilco - STREET FOOD TOUR and BOAT RIDE on Canals of Mexico City!

Xochimilco - STREET FOOD TOUR and BOAT RIDE on Canals of Mexico City!

►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe\n►Go check out Lalo: https://www.youtube.com/user/vpedoardo\n►Mexico City street food guide: https://goo.gl/Crr2Uv\n\nXochimilco is one of the most interesting cultural areas to visit when you’re in Mexico City. It was formerly a series of pre-Hispanic villages along Lake Xochimilco. Eventually Mexico City expanded and grew all the way to Xochimilco, and now it’s one of the boroughs of the city.\n\nWhat’s most remarkable about Xochimilco, and the reason most people go to visit is because of the extensive network of canals that form the framework of the area. Nowadays, you can rent the brightly colored boats and take a ride, eating and drinking along the way. I was there on a weekend evening, and it was a bit more rowdy and loud than I had wanted it to be, but it was still very fun. If you go during the daytime, you might have a more peaceful relaxing journey at Xochimilco.\n\nHere’s what Lalo (https://www.youtube.com/user/vpedoardo) and I did on our short visit:\n\nMercado de Xochimilco - This is the main market of Xochimilco, and one of the best places to get started eating traditional Mexican food when you visit Xochimilco. At the entrance of the market you’ll find rows of vendors selling home-cooked foods. Don’t miss them, they are incredible delicious. Along with rare types of tlayudas, the highlight for me was the chicken tostada which blew me away.\n\nHere’s the list of everything we ate, but really you can just walk around, see what looks good, and try it:\n\nTlacoyo - 12 MXN ($0.65) each\nTostada - 15 MXN ($0.81) each\nTaco - 5 MXN ($0.27) each\nJamaica - 10 MXN ($0.54)\nCarnitas - 20 MXN ($1.08) each\n\nAfter eating, we walked over to the boat pier. And unfortunately we were running a little late on time and it was a race against time and daylight, but we made it to the pier. Lalo talked to the boat crews, and we finally arranged a boat. The cost was a little higher than what it would normally be for locals, but unfortunately, that’s what it came down to.\nBoat hire - 850 MXN ($45.91)\n\nHope you enjoyed this tour of Xochimilco. The colorful boats are impressive to see, and it’s hard to believe you’re in Mexico City when you’re both at the relaxed Xochimilco Market, and gliding along the canals.\n\nThanks again to Lalo for coming along. Check out his channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/vpedoardo\n\nMUSIC: https://goo.gl/HwVjdo\n\n***CAMERA GEAR*** I used to make this video (these are affiliate links):\nMain camera: http://amzn.to/2sV0XQO\nMain lens: http://amzn.to/2szLZNf\n2nd lens: http://amzn.to/2EjBeEg\nMicrophone: http://amzn.to/2rBKD3z\nDrone: http://amzn.to/2CrtAHz\n\nI would love to connect with you!\nInstagram: https://instagram.com/migrationology\nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/migrationology\n\nT-shirts available now: https://migrationology.com/store/

Village Food in West Africa - BEST FUFU and EXTREME Hospitality in Rural Ghana!

This was one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had!►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe►T-shirts and caps available now: https://migrationology.com/store/Many thanks to Afia Tours (https://www.afiatours-ghana.com/) for taking on this amazing village food day trip in Ghana (Note: I paid for this tour, it is not sponsored, but I fully recommend it - it was awesome)! It was about a three hour drive from Accra to get to the village. The village was somewhere in the central Cape Coast region of Ghana (however no near to the coast, but much inland). The people from the village were so incredibly friendly, and it was one of the most genuinely hospitable and friendly villages I’ve ever visited. It was an honor and privilege to spend time at the village. As we arrived, they had already started cooking some Ghanaian food specialties. One the menu, we had banku with okra soup, fufu (a staple of West African food) with palm nut soup, and finally fried plantains with beans. All the food was incredibly good, and it was one of the best bowls of fufu I ate during my entire time in Ghana. Thanks again to Afia Tours (https://www.afiatours-ghana.com/) for setting this up!MUSIC: https://goo.gl/HwVjdo (I’m On My Way)***CAMERA GEAR*** I used to make this video (these are affiliate links):Main camera: http://amzn.to/2sV0XQOMain lens: http://amzn.to/2szLZNf2nd lens: http://amzn.to/2EjBeEgMicrophone: http://amzn.to/2rBKD3zDrone: http://amzn.to/2CrtAHzI would love to connect with you!Instagram: https://instagram.com/migrationologyFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/migrationologyT-shirts available now: https://migrationology.com/store/

SONGKRAN FESTIVAL 2018!! Thai Street Food Tour and WATER FIGHT PARTY in Bangkok, Thailand!

SONGKRAN FESTIVAL 2018!! Thai Street Food Tour and WATER FIGHT PARTY in Bangkok, Thailand!

Happy Songkran (เทศกาลสงกรานต์) 2018 from Bangkok, Thailand!\n►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe\n►T-shirts and caps available now: https://migrationology.com/store/\n\nSongkran is Thai New Years (เทศกาลสงกรานต์), which takes place every year from April 13 - 15. It’s one of the most important periods of time in Thailand and the most celebrated holiday of the year. It’s a time when friends and family get to together to spend time with each other, eat, bless each other, and enjoy one of the biggest water fights in the world!\n\nThis year I decided to spend the first day of Songkran in Bangkok, on a Thai street food water fight tour of Bangkok. After getting dressed in my Songkran flower shirt, which I’m pretty happy about, we jumped on the BTS and headed to Sala Daeng station, Silom (สีลม). Silom is known to have one of the best walking street water fights during Songkran in Bangkok. It was busy, but there’s a lot of space as well.\n\nAs for Thai food during Songkran, if you’re having a family meal, you might have a nice seafood meal, but when you’re water fighting, probably the favorite quick meal on the go during Songkran is khao kai jeow (ข้าวไข่เจียว) - 30 THB ($0.96), a Thai omelet over rice. And we found the perfect hilarious man making omelets that puffed up to inner tube. I still don’t know how he did that!\n\nSai krok Isaan (ไส้กรอกอีสาน) - 10 THB ($0.32) - After some more water fighting in Silom, we ate some sai krok Isaan, sausage.\n\nKhao San Road (ถนนข้าวสาร) - One of the most famous places to play water in Bangkok during Songkran in Khao San Road, and when we arrived there in the middle of the afternoon, it was hectic and packed, and pretty fun as well.\n\nKhanom jeen nam ya kati (ขนมจีนน้ำยากะทิ) - 40 THB ($1.28) - On this Thai street food water fight Songkran 2018 tour, we stopped to eat khanom jeen nam ya kati, a fish and coconut milk curry served over soft rice noodles. It was pretty awesomely good, especially with some extra chilies and lemon basil.\n\nShawarma - 100 THB ($3.20) - After walking playing water on Khao San Road for a little while, we decided to try the shawarma at the front of the road. At first I didn’t order cheese, but when I saw she busted out the blowtorch, I needed it. Not the greatest shawarma, but it tasted pretty good at that time and place.\n\nCha yen (ชาเย็น) - 20 THB ($0.64) - Finally to end this Thai street food tour of Bangkok Songkran, we had a cha yen from a friendly man at the front of Khao San Road.\n\nWishing you and your family a Happy Songkran (เทศกาลสงกรานต์), Thai New Year, and all other New Year celebrations in this region of the world 2018!\n\nThank you for watching!\n\nMUSIC: https://goo.gl/HwVjdo\n\n***CAMERA GEAR*** I used to make this video (these are affiliate links):\nMain camera: http://amzn.to/2sV0XQO\nMain lens: http://amzn.to/2szLZNf\n2nd lens: http://amzn.to/2EjBeEg\nMicrophone: http://amzn.to/2rBKD3z\nDrone: http://amzn.to/2CrtAHz\n\nI would love to connect with you!\nInstagram: https://instagram.com/migrationology\nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/migrationology\n\nT-shirts available now: https://migrationology.com/store/

Laotian Food - STUNNING LAO FISH SALAD | Village Cooking in Laos!

►Get a free 30 day trial for Audible at http://audible.com/markwiens or text ‘markwiens’ to 500-500\n\n►Subscribe for 2 new videos per week: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe\n\nThank you to Audible for sponsoring this video. Latest audiobook I listed to was called “The Language of Food: A Linguist Reads the Menu.”\n\nDuring my trip to Vientiane, we decided to take a day trip to a small village called Ban Hatkai located right on the outskirts of Phou Khao Khouay National Bio-Diversity Conservation Area in Laos. The main goal of the trip was to visit the village and especially learn about local Lao Lum food (ລາວລຸ່ມ)\n\nIt was about a 2 hour drive to get there, and we stopped a few minutes outside of Vientiane first to visit a market and buy some ingredients. But the best thing about markets is that there’s always also some pre-cooked food available - and for breakfast in Laos, that means sticky rice and grilled meat! We got some quail and grilled dried buffalo lungs, both of which were delicious.\n\nBan Hatkhai - Ban Hatkai is a beautiful quiet village, and we arrived to the home, a beautiful wooden Laos traditional home. She immediately got started cooking, chopping all the vegetables and herbs, and steaming the sticky rice.\n\nKoi paa - Lao fish mixed dish - For me this was the highlight of our meal. The fish was sliced thin, flash blanched, mixed with all sorts of fresh herbs, and toasted sticky rice powder, and seasoned with fish sauce.\n\nJaew - Any type of Lao dip - She made both an eggplant and a tomato jaew, both of which were delicious to eat with vegetables.\n\nThe best part of this meal and Lao food experience was all of us sitting down to eat together, sitting around a colorful spread of Lao food. The food was heavy on the vegetables and herbs, nutritious, and delicious.\n\nAgain, thank you to Audible for sponsoring this video.\n\n***CAMERA GEAR*** I used to make this video (these are affiliate links):\nMain camera: http://amzn.to/2sV0XQO\nMain lens: http://amzn.to/2szLZNf\n2nd lens: http://amzn.to/2EjBeEg\nMicrophone: http://amzn.to/2rBKD3z\nDrone: http://amzn.to/2CrtAHz\n\nI would love to connect with you!\nInstagram: https://instagram.com/migrationology\nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/migrationology\n\nT-shirts available now: https://migrationology.com/store/
