A Train Runs Through It: Thailand’s Most Dangerous Market

In Samut Songkhram, about an hour outside Bangkok, is Maeklong Railway Market, one of the largest produce and seafood markets in Thailand. But beyond the selection of fresh fruit and fish, the market has become infamous for one thing—the train that runs directly through it. In 1905, the Maeklong Railway built a commuter train line through the center of the popular market. But rather than move, the vendors adapted to the new conditions, working around the train that passes through eight times a day, seven days a week.\n\nSUBSCRIBE: https://goo.gl/vR6Acb\n\nThis story is a part of our Flavors series, where we do so much more than play with our food. BEST STREET FOODS OF 2017 - MY YEAR END REVIEW - CHINESE, INDIAN, INDONESIAN + MORE!!!

AMAZING street food around the world TOUR in 2017! 2017 was the BEST year of my life! We had a ton of Chinese food and Chinese street food, so much Indian food and Indian street food, and ate street food all around Asia in 2017. \n\nThis street food vlog is a year end summary of all the places we traveled to to eat street food and all the amazing street food adventures we went on. None of this would have been possible without you!\n\nTai Hao Le! & Travel. Eat. Repeat. MERCH AVAILABLE HERE:\nhttps://shop.bonfire.com/thefoodranger/\n\nWe started off 2017 in Sichuan, China, the land of spicy and numbing hot pot and incredibly flavourful Sichuan cuisine. I had just dropped out of culinary school to go full-time foodrangin, creating these food and travel videos for you, and it was the best feeling ever. This was honestly the best decision of my life.\n\nAfter Sichuan, we flew into Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to go on a Malaysian street food tour with our friend Chuchu. We had awesome durian and a lot of Chinese, Indian, and Malay street food specialties.\n\nAfter Malaysia, we flew into Delhi, and made a couple Indian street food tour vlogs before flying to Thailand and eating a JUMBO lobster in Hua Hin. It was so delicious! We then traveled to the south of Thailand and I proposed to Ting on the beach!\n\nAfterwards, we traveled back to Guangzhou, to eat Cantonese food like dim sum and have some awesome WHOLE ROAST PIG! \n\nAfter this we took the high speed train to Guilin and found some amazing Guilin rice noodles and \n\nThen we came back to our base in Chengdu and did one more Sichuan street food tour before going on one of the best trips of my life. We took the train all the way from Chengdu to the far west of China’s Xinjiang province along the ancient Silk Road, and discovered so many amazing specialties and friendly people. Apart from proposing to Ting, This was 100 percent the highlight of 2017, going DEEP into Xinjiang, meeting so many Uighur locals and trying their incredible food. We found so many amazing Dishes like lamb stuffed pockets from a tandoor oven, HUGE chunks of lamb meat from a tandoor oven, tons of INSANELY delicious hand pulled noodles, and a huge spectrum of unique street dishes like lamb skull meat, mixed organs and more, which all made Xinjiang the highlight of 2017 and a must visit destination for food lovers around the world. Here is where we found #5, the DAPANJI big chicken plate spicy chicken dish infused with cinnamon and star anise on top of thick hand pulled noodles. Slurping the noodles covered in that fragrance is absolutely mind-blowing. Here in Xinjiang, You can go really deep into local farmers markets and have a unique travel experience you’ll never forget.\n\nAfter Xinjiang, we flew in to Hong Kong for a Hong Kong street food tour video and then into Beijing to eat with our friend Chuchu again.\n\nAfter this we traveled to Vietnam from north to south, Borneo Malaysia for some amazing bamboo chicken, and then to Indonesia and discovered the true beauty of Nasi Padang. \n\nWe flew back into Sichuan and hit 1 Million Subscribers, created a giveaway for 2 round trip flight tickets, and then went on our Southern Silk Road tour from Chengdu to Yunnan. After this we spent 1 month in India making Indian street food videos before flying back to North America for a few weeks with my family!\n\n2017 was really the best year of my life. It was the year I learned that you can create any crazy dream you have for yourself, pursue it, and achieve it. How to Make Wagyu Beef Skewers

It's time for another Martina's Midnight Munchies, but today's is a little different, because we're working on something A LOT FANCIER than what we're used to. Today, we're actually working with some high end wagyu. It's the first time we cooked with something this expensive. And we're making Wagyu Beef Skewers all fancy! \n\nThis video also has been sponsored by the JNTO. If you're in the US, head over to their website and vote on what recipe you like the most, and they'll pick one lucky person and give them a trip to Japan. Sounds pretty sweet to me!
