Chinese Food Tour in Yunnan - AMAZING STREET FOOD and Ethnic Feast! | Yunnan, China Day 1

This Day 1 of a 4-part video Chinese food tour of Yunnan!\n►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe\n►T-shirts available now: https://migrationology.com/store/\n\nSpecial thanks to Zouba Tours (http://www.zoubatours.com/) for arranging everything in this video. I paid for this tour (it’s not sponsored), but I think they did a great job, and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the tour.\n\nLuxi who was our guide also has a cooking school called Rice and Friends (http://riceandfriends.com/) - we’ll visit her cooking school on Day 3 of this series.\n\nOk, now onto the info about this Chinese street food tour in Yunnan:\n\nXizhou, China\n\nOn Day 1, we drove from Dali Old Town to Xizhou, another ancient town near Dali, that’s known for some famous Chinese street food snacks.\n\nWe started for breakfast with a thick pea porridge and a pea pudding salad. The grandmother serving had been making these same dishes since she was a child with her mother. The breakfast was warming and delicious, and it hit the spot in the morning.\nTotal price - 8 RMB ($1.20)\n\nXizhou Baba - Probably the most famous Chinese street food you have to try in Xizhou is baba, which is also sometimes known as a Chinese pizza. It’s a round of dough that’s mixed with lard and meat, or the sweet version, and baked in a unique street oven using charcoal. Part of the fun is watching it being made. Then of course, eating it is absolutely delicious.\nPrice - 10 RMB ($1.50) per piece\n\nYunnanese cheese - Next up in Xizhou we went to watch a local Yunnanese Cheese demonstration. Yunnan is one of the few places in China where there is a cheese culture - some say it was brought over with the Mongols. We made some local cheese, then put it out to dry, then they let us sample some different types of the prepared cheese. Price - 8 RMB ($1.20)\n\nYi He Zhuang (怡和庄) Restaurant - This Yunnanese ethnic Bai Chinese food meal was the highlight of my day. We had an absolute feast of a meal, including a few unique Chinese dishes like raw pig sashimi and pine needle salad. Everything was colorful, using natural ingredients and the flavors were spectacular. This meal is one I’ll never forget.\nTotal price - 215 RMB ($32.41)\n\nDali Old Town - It was a long day of delicious Chinese food, and in the evening we drove back to Dali Old Town and headed out for dinner.\n\nDuan’s Kitchen - For dinner we were back in Old Town Dali, and my friend Frank from Zouba Tours mentioned that Duan’s Kitchen was a little touristy, but he said we needed to try it because the food was amazing and they are doing some unique things. The food was outstanding, and my favorite dish was the chicken braised in chili oil with pu’er tea.\nTotal price - 180 RMB ($27.14)\n\nCheck out Zouba Tours: http://www.zoubatours.com/\n\nThis is Day 1 of our Chinese Food in Yunnan tour. Thank you for watching, and more food coming!\n\nMUSIC: Baby Without You - https://goo.gl/HwVjdo\n\n***CAMERA GEAR*** I used to make this video (these are affiliate links):\nMain camera: http://amzn.to/2sV0XQO\nMain lens: http://amzn.to/2szLZNf\n2nd lens: http://amzn.to/2wXXT8h\nMicrophone: http://amzn.to/2rBKD3z\nGorillapod: http://amzn.to/2rBFkkI\n\nI would love to connect with you!\nInstagram: https://instagram.com/migrationology\nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/migrationology\n\nT-shirts available now: https://migrationology.com/store/

CRAZY SPICY Indonesian Food - Day Trip and Waterfall Adventure in Lombok, Indonesia!

CRAZY SPICY Indonesian Food - Day Trip and Waterfall Adventure in Lombok, Indonesia!

Lombok is an amazing place for spicy Indonesian food!\n►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe\n►T-shirts: https://migrationology.com/store/\n\nI didn’t have too much time to travel in Lombok (though I’d love to visit again), but I really wanted to visit Tetebatu, at the base of the volcano one day. So we hired a car for the day and drove there, taking some stops to eat some legendary spicy Lombok Indonesian food along the way.\n\nInaq Dellah - This is the original restaurant in Lombok to eat Ayam Rarang, what I found out is one of the greatest stews I think I’ve ever had in my life. It’s basically just a pure chili stew, made with chicken. It’s so unbelievably flavor and packed with Lombok chili spice.\nTotal price - 180,000 IDR ($13.14)\n\nTetebatu, Lombok\nWaterfall entrance - 20,000 IDR ($1.46) - We arrived to Tetebatu, and paid the small entrance fee to enter the waterfall. The waterfall was worth a visit, nothing too big, but I always enjoy walking through water on a hike to reach a waterfall.\n\nNasi Puyung at Nasi Balap Puyung Inaq Esun - One of the most legendary of Lombok Indonesian food dishes is nasi puyung. Again, we went out of our way to seek out the original. It’s a combination of fried shredded chicken, mixed with a heap of curry chili paste. It doesn’t really look that spicy, but it’s pretty amazingly spicy, I loved it. It’s kind of a 3 am kind of dish.\nTotal price - 88,000 IDR ($6.42) for 3\n\nAll day car and guide - I paid 700,000 IDR ($51.10), and Belen was a great guy, and the owner of https://www.facebook.com/lombokpirates/ highly recommended (this is not sponsored, I paid).\n\nThis was an amazing day trip in Lombok, and along with crazy spicy delicious Indonesian Lombok food, the sightseeing was spectacular as well. Lombok is a gorgeous island!\n\n***CAMERA GEAR*** I used to make this video (these are affiliate links):\nMain camera: http://amzn.to/2sV0XQO\nMain lens: http://amzn.to/2szLZNf\n2nd lens: http://amzn.to/2wXXT8h\nMicrophone: http://amzn.to/2rBKD3z\nGorillapod: http://amzn.to/2rBFkkI\n\nI would love to connect with you!\nInstagram: https://instagram.com/migrationology\nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/migrationology\n\nT-shirts available now: https://migrationology.com/store/

Tokyo Ramen Tour - 3 Unique Bowls of JAPANESE NOODLES | Best of Tokyo Food Tour!

►Follow The Hungry Tourist: https://www.instagram.com/the.hungry.tourist/\n\n►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe\n\nFor this Tokyo ramen tour video, I was on the Best of Tokyo Food Tour with David from The Hungry Tourist. His tours are one of a kind and focus on deep high end food!\n\nFor more details check out The Hungry Tourist:\n►Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/the.hungry.tourist/\n►Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thehungrytourist/\n\nRamen Tour of Ginza, Tokyo - 3 unique bowls of ramen\n\n#1 Ramen Rule - Taste the broth first, after that, there are no other main rules to eating ramen, just slurp and enjoy.\n\nGinza Kagari - The first Japanese ramen restaurant we went to is a very well known place that serves chicken ramen, called Ginza Kagari. We waited in line for about 30 minutes before getting in. The broth was thick and rich, and overall a very good bowl.\nPrice - 1,050 JPY ($9.23)\n\nKazami - This was one of my favorites of the day, a thick unique sake ramen. One of the interesting things about ramen in Japan is that it’s a relatively recent addition to Japanese food, and so there are less “rules” meaning chefs can experiment and try unique versions of ramen. This sake ramen was delicious.\nPrice - 980 JPY ($8.62)\n\nShichisai - Finally for our last bowl of ramen on this ramen food tour, we ate at a place called Shichisai, known for serving hand-made noodles right in front of you. The noodles were the best of the tour for sure.\nPrice - 970 JPY ($8.53)\n\nIf I could have the noodles from Shichisai and the sake broth from Kazami, that would be perfect!\n\nThank you to The Hungry Tourist for inviting me on The Best of Tokyo Food Tour.\n(I didn’t personally pay for the food in this video).\n►Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/the.hungry.tourist/\n►Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thehungrytourist/\n\nThank you for watching!\n\nMUSIC: Top Down - https://goo.gl/HwVjdo\n\n***CAMERA GEAR*** I used to make this video (these are affiliate links):\nMain camera: http://amzn.to/2sV0XQO\nMain lens: http://amzn.to/2szLZNf\n2nd lens: http://amzn.to/2wXXT8h\nMicrophone: http://amzn.to/2rBKD3z\nGorillapod: http://amzn.to/2rBFkkI\n\nI would love to connect with you!\nInstagram: https://instagram.com/migrationology\nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/migrationology\n\nT-shirts available now: https://migrationology.com/store/

Japanese Steak - THICK WAGYU BEEF at Shima Steak (西洋料理 島) — Best of Tokyo Food Tour!

►Check out The Hungry Tourist: https://www.instagram.com/the.hungry.tourist/\n►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe\n►T-shirts: https://migrationology.com/store/\n\nFor this video, I was on the Best of Tokyo Food Tour with David from The Hungry Tourist. His tours are one of a kind and focus on deep high end food!\n\nFor more details check out The Hungry Tourist:\n►Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/the.hungry.tourist/\n►Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thehungrytourist/\n\nShima Steak (西洋料理 島) is a well, one of the must-eat wagyu beef steak restaurants in Tokyo, and it was an honor to be able to have a chance to eat there for lunch one day on this Tokyo food tour. You could either order the sirloin or the fillet, and I decided to go for the sirloin, because it’s known to be a little fatter and juicier. \n\nThe chef at Shima Steak (西洋料理 島) has developed his own unique grill for steak, where it’s a wood fire oven, but it grills and bakes at the same time. He cuts hugely thick slices of wagyu beef steak and then skewers them to cook in the oven grill.\n\nIt was one of the most tender, juicy, and insanely flavorful steaks I’ve ever had. And not only the food, but I really enjoyed the friendliness of the restaurant, the chef and his wife, and how it really felt like you were going over to your relatives or grandparents house to eat a top of the line Japanese beef wagyu steak.\n\nThanks for Khun Mangmoom (https://www.instagram.com/yingmangmoomofficial/) for letting me try the wagyu fillet!\n\nFor dessert, one of the things you can’t miss when you eat at Shima Steak is their world famous steak sandwich. You have to watch the full video to see how it’s made, but all I can say is that it will amaze you how much beef they stack into the sandwich and how they pack it into a to go box bento style. It’s mind blowing, and insanely delicious!\n\nPrice - about 12,000 JPY ($106.94) per steak\n\nThank you to The Hungry Tourist for inviting me on The Best of Tokyo Food Tour. I didn’t personally pay for the food in this video.\nhttps://www.instagram.com/the.hungry.tourist/\nhttps://www.facebook.com/thehungrytourist/\n\nNOTE: I did not pay for the food in this video, it was part of the tour.\n\nThank you for watching!\n\nMUSIC: Top Down - https://goo.gl/HwVjdo\n\n***CAMERA GEAR*** I used to make this video (these are affiliate links):\nMain camera: http://amzn.to/2sV0XQO\nMain lens: http://amzn.to/2szLZNf\n2nd lens: http://amzn.to/2wXXT8h\nMicrophone: http://amzn.to/2rBKD3z\nGorillapod: http://amzn.to/2rBFkkI\n\nI would love to connect with you!\nInstagram: https://instagram.com/migrationology\nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/migrationology\n\nT-shirts available now: https://migrationology.com/store/
