Thai Street Food Michelin Star - GIANT CRAB OMELET at Jay Fai (ร้านเจ๊ไฝ) in Bangkok, Thailand!

Thai Street Food Michelin Star - GIANT CRAB OMELET at Jay Fai (ร้านเจ๊ไฝ) in Bangkok, Thailand!

►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe\n►T-shirts available now: https://migrationology.com/store/\n\nCongratulations to Jay Fai (ร้านเจ๊ไฝ) who recently was awarded a Michelin Star!\n\nJay Fai (ร้านเจ๊ไฝ) is no doubt one of the most legendary Thai street food restaurants in Bangkok - some people are loyal fans, others say that it’s overpriced. It’s a Thai restaurants in Bangkok that I had been wanting to eat at for a long time, but never got around to it - partly because it is so expensive. So finally one day for lunch, Ying and I drove over to central Bangkok to try Jay Fai (ร้านเจ๊ไฝ) for the first time.\n\nBut really quickly, about the name....\n\nIn Thai, Jay (เจ๊) means a Chinese Aunty and Fai (ไฝ) means a mole, yes a mole. What I can tell you first about the restaurant is that the owner is absolutely awesome. She wears ski goggles and a snow cap while she’s cooking, and she cooks over huge fire charcoal, fanning the flame as she expertly cooks. She’s also quite a character, and she loves to chat - so while I was filming she shared all about herself, and how her method of cooking her legendary Thai crab omelet ensures that it doesn’t soak up very much oil. It’s indeed the most amazing omelet you might ever see in your life.\n\nCrab omelet (ไข่เจียวปู) - You can either order the 800 THB or the 1000 THB crab omelet, I went with the 1000 THB. It’s huge, but only uses 2 eggs, but it’s packed with shell less crab nuggets. The omelet is cooked burrito style, and it’s massive. It’s a must order when you eat at Jay Fai (ร้านเจ๊ไฝ).\n\nDrunken noodles (เส้นใหญ่ผัดขี้เมาทะเล) - Her version of Thai drunken noodles (pad kee mao sen ya) is the dish I would come back for over and over again. Again, it’s not cheap, but the quality of seafood and the seasoning that she uses is superb. The balance of flavor will blow your mind - it’s really the best plate of Thai drunken noodles I’ve had in Bangkok.\n\nTom yum goong (ต้มยำกุ้ง) - For our final dish we tried Jay Fai (ร้านเจ๊ไฝ) tom yum goong. Again, massive prawns and seafood were used, and she cooked it over charcoal. It was awesomely delicious, sour, and flavorful.\n\nConclusion:\nEating at Thai street food restaurants like this can be all about expectations. You have to go in knowing the prices are very high and you’re going to spend way more money than going to any other corner Thai street food restaurant. That being said, it’s a one-of-a-kind historical culinary legend of a restaurant in Bangkok. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience eat at Jay Fai (ร้านเจ๊ไฝ), and it was an honor to stand there and talk with Jay Fai (ร้านเจ๊ไฝ), and then eat her cooking.\n\nTotal price - 2,370 THB ($72.32)\n\nJay Fai (ร้านเจ๊ไฝ)\nAddress: 327 Thanon Maha Chai, Samran Rat, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200, Thailand\nOpen hours: 1:30 pm – 1:30 am\nPhone: 02-2339384\n\nที่อยู่ 327 ถนน มหาไชย แขวงสำราญราษฎร์ เขตพระนคร กรุงเทพฯ 10200\nโทร. 02-2339384\nเปิดบริการ 13.30-01.30 น.\n\nMUSIC: https://goo.gl/HwVjdo\n\n***CAMERA GEAR*** I used to make this video (these are affiliate links):\nMain camera: http://amzn.to/2sV0XQO\nMain lens: http://amzn.to/2szLZNf\n2nd lens: http://amzn.to/2wXXT8h\nMicrophone: http://amzn.to/2rBKD3z\nGorillapod: http://amzn.to/2rBFkkI\n\nI would love to connect with you!\nInstagram: https://instagram.com/migrationology\nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/migrationology\n\nT-shirts available now: https://migrationology.com/store/

Best Sushi in Japan - Tsukiji Tuna Auction to $300 HIGH-END SUSHI in Tokyo!

►Check out The Hungry Tourist: https://www.instagram.com/the.hungry.tourist/\n►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe\n►T-shirts: https://migrationology.com/store/\n\nFor this Japanese food and sushi tour, I was on the best of Tokyo food tour with David from The Hungry Tourist (https://www.facebook.com/thehungrytourist/).\n\nNOTE: In saying Best Sushi in Japan, I'm not saying this particular restaurant is the best sushi in Japan, but that the sushi journey, from Tsukiji fish auction, to the middle man who the best sushi chefs in the world get their tuna from (where we visited), to the omakase style of eating sushi - it's the entire process that's the best in the world of sushi.\n\nWe started off by going to the Tsukiji Fish Market tuna auction, that takes place early in the morning. The famous fish market is the biggest tuna auction in the world, and the best tuna that you get just about anywhere in the world for top end sushi restaurants comes through Tsukiji Market. We met up with Sushi Master Hiro Sato, who brought us around the market and took us to the Tuna King (Yamaguki), who is known for buying tuna and reselling on the best tuna to the best of the best of sushi restaurants in Tokyo.\n\nIt was fascinating to have an opportunity to visit Tsukiji Market for the fish auction, and to see the tuna being sliced in front of your eyes.\n\nSushi Arai (鮨 あらい) - For dinner, we had reservations a t one of the best restaurants in Tokyo for sushi, a restaurant called Sushi Arai. Our Best of Tokyo food tour had the entire 8 seater restaurant to ourselves, and it was pure joy to watch the chefs as they assembled each mini plate of food. Then it was time for sushi, and Chef Arai is a master, he literally just flies with his hands, gathering the fish in one hand and the ball of rice in the other, combining each bite with wasabi and molding them together. This was one of the best sushi experiences I’ve ever had in my life, and the quality, balance, and perfection of the sushi, is next level.\n\nPrice - About 34,000 JPY ($300) per person\n\nIt was an amazing day of learning about the best sushi in Japan, both from the Tsukiji Market auction side, and the distribution of the tuna, all the way to eating at one of the top luxury sushi restaurants in Tokyo.\n\nThank you to The Hungry Tourist for inviting me on The Best of Tokyo Food Tour.\nI didn’t personally pay for the food in this video.\nhttps://www.instagram.com/the.hungry.tourist/\nhttps://www.facebook.com/thehungrytourist/\n\nMUSIC: Love Me Now - https://goo.gl/HwVjdo\n\n***CAMERA GEAR*** I used to make this video (these are affiliate links):\nMain camera: http://amzn.to/2sV0XQO\nMain lens: http://amzn.to/2szLZNf\n2nd lens: http://amzn.to/2wXXT8h\nMicrophone: http://amzn.to/2rBKD3z\nGorillapod: http://amzn.to/2rBFkkI\n\nI would love to connect with you!\nInstagram: https://instagram.com/migrationology\nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/migrationology\n\nT-shirts available now: https://migrationology.com/store/

Street Food in Lombok - BEST GRILLED CHICKEN in the WORLD!! Mataram, Indonesia!

For me, ayam taliwang in Lombok is the best grilled chicken in the world so far!\n►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe\n►T-shirts: https://migrationology.com/store/\n\nOne of the main reasons I wanted to travel to the island of Lombok in Indonesia is to eat the original ayam taliwang, a style of spicy grilled chicken that truly is the best grilled chicken I’ve ever tasted anywhere in the world.\n\nIn this Mataram, Lombok food tour, we eat at some of the best and most legendary street food stalls in Mataram, Lombok!\n\nRM. Bebalung Kelebet - For breakfast I couldn’t wait to try a dish called bebalung, a beef ribs dish. You have to arrive at this place in the morning or they will sell out, and the beef ribs are extraordinary with sambal and rice.\nPrice - 68,000 IDR ($5.02) for 2\n\nIslamic Center Mosque - After the beef ribs breakfast feast, we walked over to have a quick tour of the biggest mosque in Mataram.\n\nRumah Makan Sukaraja - For first lunch, we headed to a restaurant known for their Lombok style nasi campur, where you can choose a mixture of different dishes all over your rice. It was excellent.\nPrice - 90,000 IDR ($6.65) for 2\n\nPasar Kebon Roek\nPantai Ampenan\n\nWarung Sate Rembiga Utama - For lunch number two, and one of the must eat Indonesian foods to try when you’re in Lombok is sate rembiga. The sate is a little sweet, but spicy at the same time, and I would venture to say they are some of the most addictive sate I’ve ever had anywhere.\nTotal price - 89,000 IDR ($6.57)\n\nTaliwang Khas Pak Udin - Finally on to ayam taliwang, and I ordered super pedas, extra spicy. They first deep fry the chicken, then coat it in multiple layers of chili sauce, and then grill it over a ridiculous hot fire, while pouring chili all over it. The result is a grilled chicken that will change your life forever, it’s insane.\nPrice - 40,000 IDR ($2.95) per chicken\n\nSeafood Ikan Bakar 88 - Finally to end this Indonesian food tour of Mataram, I met up with a group at a street food seafood restaurant. It was great to eat and hang out!\nTotal price - about 200,000 IDR ($14.77)\n\nThank you to everything I met in this video for all your help, and thank you for watching!\n\nMUSIC: Love Me Now - https://goo.gl/HwVjdo\n\n***CAMERA GEAR*** I used to make this video (these are affiliate links):\nMain camera: http://amzn.to/2sV0XQO\nMain lens: http://amzn.to/2szLZNf\n2nd lens: http://amzn.to/2wXXT8h\nMicrophone: http://amzn.to/2rBKD3z\nGorillapod: http://amzn.to/2rBFkkI\n\nI would love to connect with you!\nInstagram: https://instagram.com/migrationology\nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/migrationology\n\nT-shirts available now: https://migrationology.com/store/

Halal Thai Street Food in Bangkok - AMAZING THAI CURRY and ROTI Food Tour!

Halal Thai Street Food in Bangkok - AMAZING THAI CURRY and ROTI Food Tour!

The fish curry was my favorite dish of this Halal Thai street food tour!\n►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe\n►T-shirts available now: https://migrationology.com/store/\n\nThe area around Haroon Mosque (มัสยิดฮารูณ), in the Charoen Krung area of Bangkok, is a great place to find Halal Thai street food (food cooked permissible with Muslim / Islamic traditions). In this video I’m taking you on a Halal Thai street food in Bangkok - we’re going to eat some amazing roti roti breakfast, and some of my personal favorite curry - gaeng gari (แกงกะหรี่).\n\nRoti Mataba Khun Mai (โรตีมะตะบะ คุณใหม่) - This is the first place we stopped for breakfast to eat Thai Muslim style roti. Ying and I split a sweet roti, and a couple of mataba gai (มะตะบะไก่), chicken stuffed roti. Both were excellent, and made hot and fresh right in front of us.\nTotal price - 175 THB ($5.35)\n\nKhao mok (ข้าวหมก) is Thai biryani, and this was actually more of a Burmese style. It rolled down the alley right where we were eating the mataba, and we had to try it. As we were ordering though, the family that lives in the house there in the gate, had watched our videos and invited us into their house to eat - this was completely random and unplanned. The family was extremely nice, and we ate the biryani in their home, and also tried a few of their extra dishes.\nPrice - 90 THB ($2.75) per plate\n\nGaeng gari (แกงกะหรี่) - This is probably my favorite dish of this entire Halal Bangkok Thai street food tour. Gaeng gari (แกงกะหรี่) of this style is typically a Muslim version of this amazing curry. It’s packed with spice, and what I love most about it are the curry leaves that give the curry its unique and strong flavor.\nTotal price - 110 THB ($3.36)\n\nGaeng Hindu (แกงฮินดู) - There’s a curry street food stall as you enter Haroon Mosque (มัสยิดฮารูณ) that you don’t want to miss. They have a curry that they called “Gaeng Hindu (แกงฮินดู)” or an Indian style curry. It looked like Thai massaman curry, but it didn’t taste at all like massaman curry. This curry was amazing, packed full of spicy, and not sweet at all like massaman. It’s a curry you don’t want to miss.\nShe wouldn’t allow us to pay. Thank you for the food!\n\nKhanom soyi (ขนมโซยี) - This is the original version of this Thai Muslim dessert pudding. It was interesting, not my favorite.\nPrice - 20 THB ($0.61)\n\nKuay teow bok (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวบก) - This is a Thai street food dish you won’t find often, it included wide rice noodles and herbs, with shrimp, chicken, and peanuts, with a sweet chili sauce. The sauce was too sweet for me, but I liked the freshness of the dish.\nPrice - 40 THB ($1.22)\n\nKhanom buang (ขนมเบื้อง) - Finally to end this Thai street food Halal tour, we ate khanom buang (ขนมเบื้อง). Most of the ingredients are vegetables and it’s really a refreshing and light mixture that all goes into it. It was a great way to end this food tour, and I was stuffed at the end.\nPrice - 40 THB ($1.22)\n\nYou’ll find Halal Thai street food around the Haroon Mosque (มัสยิดฮารูณ), especially on Friday from about 10 am - 2 pm.\n\nThank you for watching this video!\n\nMUSIC: Copy Cops - https://goo.gl/HwVjdo\n\n***CAMERA GEAR*** I used to make this video (these are affiliate links):\nMain camera: http://amzn.to/2sV0XQO\nMain lens: http://amzn.to/2szLZNf\n2nd lens: http://amzn.to/2wXXT8h\nMicrophone: http://amzn.to/2rBKD3z\nGorillapod: http://amzn.to/2rBFkkI\n\nI would love to connect with you!\nInstagram: https://instagram.com/migrationology\nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/migrationology\n\nT-shirts available now: https://migrationology.com/store/

BEST Ramen Noodles in New York! New York City Ramen Noodle Tour Part 2

My quest to try the BEST ramen noodles in New York continues as I visit 4 more locations to try out their ramen noodle soups.\n\n1. MU Ramen \nI LOVED this place, BEST Tonkotsu ramen in the city! Don't forget to try their pancakes...just insane.\n\n2. TOTTO Ramen\nVERY hyped up place for a good reason. This was my first time eating here and it certainly deserves its stellar reputation.\n\n3. Hide-Chan Ramen\nThis place was recommended to me by the chef-owner of MU so my expectations were high. But very mediocre broth and noodles did not really absorb the flavor.\n\n4. Minca Ramen\nAnother recommendation. SUPER thick and flavorful broth. The best thing was the pork by far.\n\n➨Get tickets to the best show on earth!!! http://bit.ly/2gu7REI\n\n❖Support me on Patreon: http://bit.ly/2lc36om\nStrictly Dumpling T-Shirts HERE: http://bit.ly/2zp2PRL\n\n►Subscribe for MORE videos about food! http://bit.ly/1hsxh41\n▲ Subscribe to our COOKING Channel! http://bit.ly/2vz2UPT\n\n★↓FOLLOW ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA!↓★\nFacebook Show Page: https://www.facebook.com/strictlydumpling\nFacebook Mike Fan Page: https://www.facebook.com/mikeychenx\nStrictly Dumpling Instagram: http://instagr.am/haveadumpling\nPersonal Instagram: http://instagr.am/Mikexingchen\nTwitter: http://twitter.com/Mikexingchen\n\n◈ Equipment I use for filming◈ :\nSony RX100 Mark V http://amzn.to/2fZwuMG\nPANASONIC LUMIX G85 http://amzn.to/2wx2j5G\nWide Angle Lens http://amzn.to/2g0bbdC\nCamera Mic: http://amzn.to/2fZf4j6\nCamera Lights: http://amzn.to/2vXypVK\nHandheld Audio Recorder: http://amzn.to/2xlmPTO\nTripod: http://amzn.to/2vXA5yE\nDrone: http://amzn.to/2x6KqII\n\nMy Favorite Cookware!\nwok/pan http://amzn.to/2f5G0up\nAlso this pan http://amzn.to/2f5Qnyi\nPressure pan http://amzn.to/2wJIS7u\nNonstick pot http://amzn.to/2wHRgq1\n\n✉Send stuff to our PO Box!\nMike Chen \nPO Box 610 \nMiddletown, NY 10940\n\n------------------------------\n♩ ♫\n- Days In New York by Alvaro Angeloro: http://www.hooksounds.com\n- Energetic Rock by Rodrigo Vicente: http://www.hooksounds.com\n- Funkorama by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/)\nSource: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1100474\nArtist: http://incompetech.com/\n- Blooms by Patrick Ellis: https://soundcloud.com/patrick\n- First Sight by Ikson @ikson\nMusic provided by Free Music for Vlogs youtu.be/Wu6zU23_5Yo\n- Bit Quest by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) \nLicensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0\nhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/\n- Boost by Joakim Karud http://soundcloud.com/joakimkarud

Chinese Food - YELLOW BEEF Hot Pot and Hot CHILI OIL RECIPE! | Yunnan, China Day 3

This Day 3 of this 4-part video Chinese food tour of Yunnan. Watch it all here: https://goo.gl/QhiJUb\n►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe\n►T-shirts available now: https://migrationology.com/store/\n\nLuxi’s cooking school: http://riceandfriends.com/\nZouba Tours: http://www.zoubatours.com/\n\nIt was another incredible day of Chinese food in Yunnan. It was a cold and rainy day, so we started with some noodles. Then we went to Luxi’s cooking class and learned how to make Chinese hot chili oil, and finally ended the day with an amazing copper hot pot of a special type of yellow beef.\n\nBreakfast at Liu Pan Shui Mutton Vermicelli (六盘水羊肉米线) - Located in Dali Old Town, we started off the cold and rainy morning with a bowl of mutton vermicelli. The noodles were so warm and soothing and the mutton was fragrant. But probably the best thing about this Chinese breakfast was the hot chili oil, and Luxi said they had some of the best!\nPrice - 12 RMB ($1.82)\n\nWan Bao Hong Cheng Tea Shop - After breakfast, we walked over to a local tea shop to sample some Yunnan teas. Yunnan is famous for growing tea, and especially for pu’er tea, which is black, aged and fermented tea. It was a great learning opportunity, and as a tea and hot drinks lover, I fully enjoyed it.\nPu’er tea - 300 RMB ($45.47)\n\nRice and Friends - Chinese Cooking Class - Luxi was our guide for a few days during this Chinese food tour trip, and she also owns a cooking school in Dali called Rice and Friends (http://riceandfriends.com/). We first went to the market and bought a few ingredients, then we went back to her cooking school to learn a few dishes. The highlight for me was learning how to make Sichuan style hot chili oil - a condiment that you can use for just about anything and everything.\n\nYellow beef copper hot pot - Yunnan is known for its speciality yellow beef, and also for a style of copper hot pot. The beef and broth was insanely flavorful, and we added in a few vegetables. One of the best things about this type of Chinese hot pot is getting to make your sauce. And we must have added about 25 different ingredients and seasonings to our sauces. It was an outstanding meal, one of the best meals of my trip to Yunnan, China. \nTotal price - 149 RMB ($22.57)\n\nSpecial thanks to Zouba Tours (http://www.zoubatours.com/) for arranging everything in this video. I paid for this tour, but I think they did a great job, and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the tour.\n\nThat completes Day 3 of this Chinese food tour of Yunnan.
