Editorial Analysis
Hello everyone….Happy Holydays!\nHere is our Christmas story for you.\n\nI got a call. \nIf I could arrange a Turkey for a telephone commercial.\nSince I film with animals, I am also asked to help with animals on professional film sets.\nOf course I knew some Turkeys at a petting zoo, but I had a better idea: This was my chance to go and safe one from becoming Christmas dinner.\nSo I went to a farm where the Turkeys would be picked up only a few hours later.\nThey were so beautiful…and funny in the way they reacted to me.\nI also felt sad and it was kind of unreal to realize that all of them wouldn’t make it to Christmas. Except for one.\nI just couldn’t choose one, so I asked the farmer to pick one for me.\nHe chose a female because they are not as heavy as the males.\n\nIn the car she was a bit disorientated and she had no idea that the impossible just had happened to her.\nShe is truly one in a million.\nAnd of course she could only have one name: Lucky\n\nIt was funny to realize that I just had done the same as the president of the United States. As you might know it is tradition that the president pardons a Turkey every year before Thanksgiving. \n\nOn the film set she did exactly what she was supposed to do.\nShe didn’t mind about the lights and the camera and the fake snow falling on top of her –because I was doing such a great job as animal handler of course ;) \n\nI took her to a school to show her to the children over there.\nMost of them had never seen a Turkey this close and they all loved her.\nLucky was really relaxed and loved to be petted by them.\n\nAt my home she was so sweet. She really liked to eat vegetables for the first time in her live. And she enjoyed to be tickled on her head.\n\nIt was also nice to be in the snow with her.\n\nAfter a couple of days it was clear that she was too lonely in my garden so I took her to a new family at the petting zoo that I know well.\nThe Turkeys over there gave her a warm welcome and it felt I had found the right new home for her.\n\nAnd what was really cool, when the telephone company heard that the Turkey that was pardoned in their commercial, was also saved for real, they offered the petting zoo to make a donation to build a brand new Turkey Paradise for Lucky and her family. \n\nAl music we use comes from Audionetwork.\nMusic:\nA Sparkling Wonder by Jody Jenkins\nMerry Xmas Everyone by Alexander L’Estrange & Ben Parry
